TIPS:

LINER INSTALLATION GUIDE

Step 1

Based upon the size of the liner, make an outline of your pond with a rope or garden hose.

Step 2

Remove the sod and dig out shelves. Most water gardens are designed with shelves 9-12 inches below water level to hold plants. Dig a deep area for the pond. A 20 degree slope should be done for all sides of the pond.

Step 3

Prepare pond hole for liner. Remove all stones, roots and add 2-3 inches of sand to the bottom. If recommended, add fabric underlayment for your liner.

Step 4

Carefully place liner in the pond hole and use stones as weights to hold the liner in place. Start filling the pond with water and smooth out wrinkles in the liner as you go. As the pond begins to fill, remove stone weights around the edge. Cut off any excess liner leaving enough material to extend underneath whatever edging you have planned. Anchor liner with long nails around the edge.
